Rising Star Juli Chan: From Local Talent to International Sensation

Warsaw, — Juli Chan, born Julia Chmielarska on March 30, 2004, in Kraśnik, Poland, has emerged as a promising young talent in the world of music. At just 19 years old, Juli Chan is a singer, songwriter, and composer with a penchant for pop music.


Early Life and Education


Juli's musical journey began early in life. She attended the School of Music, specializing in piano, and also engaged in vocal training at the Kraśnik Center for Culture and Promotion. Her commitment to her craft led her to graduate from the Mikołaj Rej Secondary School in Kraśnik.


Professional Career


In her formative years, Juli Chan participated in numerous local, national, and international music competitions. She earned a plethora of awards and recognitions, solidifying her reputation as a standout talent in the making. Some of her notable achievements include being a finalist at the 38th International Children's Song and Dance Festival in Konin (2016), winning first place at the 22nd International Festival of Art for Children and Youth "My XXI Century" in Bulgaria (2014), and representing Poland with an individual special award at the Euro Stars International Singers Festival in Malta (2015).


Juli's accolades continued with her Grand Prix win at the II Young Stars Congress in Szczecin (2017). In 2016, she even participated in the national selection for the 14th Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Na skrzydłach dni."


Her talent extended to television when she appeared on the second season of "The Voice Kids" in 2019. On December 31, 2020, Juli Chan released her debut single, "Miło mi cię poznać," with lyrics penned by Magdalena Wójcik.


In December 2020, Juli adopted the artistic pseudonym "Juli Chan," which combines a diminutive form of her name with a Japanese honorific title. She drew inspiration from Ariana Grande, paying homage to her mentor with a cover of "Bad idea" in December 2020 and even emulating her in the music video.


Juli's artistic journey continued with the release of "Zniknę z tobą," a song she both wrote and composed, in March 2021, followed by a cover of Vanessa Paradis' hit "Joe le taxi" in September 2021, which garnered attention and acclaim in French radio circles.


In June 2022, Juli Chan marked a milestone by releasing her first English-language single, "Not a Crime," which she co-authored. The song's music video, co-starring actor Konrad Pondo, drew inspiration from a historic chess match played in London in 1851.


The artist's latest venture in January 2023 was the submission of her song "Relapse" to the "Tu bije serce Europy! Wybieramy hit na Eurowizję" program, although it did not make the final cut.


On February 3, 2023, Juli Chan released her single "Wyloguj się," featuring Cleo, under Warner Music Poland. The song earned a spot on key editorial playlists on the Spotify music streaming service.
